Changes in this release include 2012 Pay Item average unit prices through March 2016, updated 2012 Pay Item Codes list, and vendor list updates.
Updates are available for download in MERL for Pay Items, Average Unit Price, and Vendor lists. The download is accessible from within MERL version 5.3.0 or greater. To access the downloads, MERL customers can choose the Tools option within the main menu, and then choose Check for Lookup Updates. Customers using MERL versions earlier than 5.3.0 are advised to update to MERL 5.3.3.
Get your summer projects started! The Center for Technology & Training proudly announces the availability of MERL Mobile for iPad. MERL Mobile was initially released last spring for Android devices.
MERL Mobile for iPad has the same features found in the latest Android release. Recently added features include: a total amount to the item(s) posting page, and a development platform change which enables us to more easily release updates to you for both Android and iPad.
MERL 5.3.3 Update Available

As of January 1, 2016 the CTT will no longer support Roadsoft, Laptop Data Collector (LDC), or MERL on Windows XP or SQL Server 2005 due to product support termination by Microsoft. A Roadsoft RoundUp article was published in June detailing this transition.
The MERL Manual has been redesigned in Responsive HTML5 to be more usable on tablets and smart phones. The size and layout of the manual will now change depending on whether the manual is being viewed on a PC, tablet or smart phone.

With the release of MERL 5.3.0, the Center for Technology & Training proudly announces its first mobile application for MERL, Local Job Manager Mobile. This mobile app brings desktop functionality into the field. Principal Programmer, Nick Koszykowski, explained that since this work is typically done outside of the office “creating a mobile app was the next logical step”.
